This is an unusual 19th century lignum vitae tower, it came from the  Metropolitan Museum of Art, and was described as a travelling spice tower with four compartments. It could potentially also have been for watchmakers pieces. It is a beautifully made piece and very unusual in lignum vitae.
It  only measures 10.2cm h.
