A 19th century oak money box in the form of a chest. Standing on bun feet, it has a heart shaped dummy escutcheon and on the lid is an inlaid diamond and two coin slots of different sizes. One for coppers and one for silver coins.
Money boxes were made for saving and so the only way to retrieve the money is to unscrew the top or shake the coins out through the slots in the lid.
This great little chest measures 19cm w x 12.5cm d x 13cm h.
The chest has a lovely mellow colour.
