A 19th century sycamore cream sycamore with a fabulous colour and patina.
Cream skimmers were used in the production of butter, the milk was left to settle  for 24-36 hours and the fat would rise to the surface and was skimmed off, this was then churned and made into butter etc.  hence the name cream skimmer.
This one measures 22cm w 4 cm h.
