A Georgian inlaid oval snuff/tobacco box with patera inlay to the lid, note the dark shading by sprinkling hot sand onto the wood.
Note to the oval sides inlaid stripes of wood, alternating sycamore, stained green harewood and a dark wood probably ebony.
Inside lead lined lid and remnants of lead lining to base, now covered with a loose piece of pink paper.
