This is a 19th century staved flour barrel. It has a swing handle and a well fitted lid. The barrel is slightly tapered and unusually has a small print on the front of a group of women, a child and a gentleman.
The barrel measures 16.5cm h x 16cm w at the lid x 18cm w at the base.
A good small size.
