A mid 1700s pressed wood misers snuff box. It has S.Antoni on the top, the patron saint of animals amongst other things. The lid is decorated with stars , the saints head etc.
It is called a misers snuff box because the lid swivels around to allow just a pinch of snuff, limiting the amount someone could take.
