A small late 19th century Scottish treen Quaich.
A Quaich is a traditional drinking vessel used for hospitality ceremonies such as welcoming or saying good bye to friends. Its name comes from the Gaelic “cuach” which means “cup”. Quaichs were used for drinks, such as whisky or brandy.
This example measures 6cm w excluding the lugs or 10cm including the lugs x 3.5cm h.
