An early 1800s boxwood snuff box in the form of a crouching man, full of character. He has a lovely carved face and incised line decoration representing his clothes.
The snuff would have been accessed by the hinged lid at the back, there is also a small hole at the base where a peg could be removed and snuff powder shaken out.
